Consignors = Business Partners

consign

Target, TJ Maxx, Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel, Anthropology …

What do all of these stores have in common?

SUPPLIERS

ALL of their inventory comes from warehouses, designers, manufacturers, etc.

Our SUPPLIERS are our CONSIGNORS.

Essentially making them { YOU } our partners in business.

{ YOU } are the key component to the beginning of our success cycle (#1 below):

1. { YOU } bring in your quality, previously loved items

2. We select, price & merchandise those items correctly

3. We sell { YOUR } items for the best possible price

4. { YOU } collect your cash

5. Cycle complete

WIN/WIN

consignors

To all of our current and future consignors out there,

THANK { YOU } for being our PARTNERS …

Our business is better because of { YOU }!

I LOVE Construction! Who’s With Me?!

How many times have you heard someone mutter those words?

My guess is probably …. NEVER.  Unless you’re one those lifers in the biz, right?

Well …

Our Coralville Stuff Etc is currently under construction and we are ECSTATIC!

We recently secured an acre of land to our west and have begun construction in our lower level where we will have official Franchise office space.

If you stop by today, this is what you’d see :

{ I’m not gonna lie … looks a little like we’re going out of business, but I assure you, it’s quite the opposite }

Even more exciting than the franchise offices, is the 50 foot expansion you will soon see on the main level!

This expansion will include a new, separate and easily accessible entrance for our consignors connected by a hallway that flows into the main store for our shoppers continued convenience.

As you are shopping and consigning with us throughout this process, we beg you for your patience.  It could be a little noisy at times, but we assure you that we will continue to serve you and care for your items at the same level you have grown accustomed to.

Beyond the excitement we have with the new construction, we look forward to the extra step of service we will be able to provide once it’s all completed.

Stay tuned for updates!

The Ultimate Accessory

Is it safe to say that a designer handbag is a woman’s ultimate accessory?

I wouldn’t.  But my sister would … FOR! SURE!

One time I went to remove her handbag from a chair so that I might actually sit down … in a chair …  that I thought she was “saving” for me.  WRONG!

It was a chair that was being saved for her purse. And I quickly got a lesson in all the “bad mojo” that can occur from sitting a handbag such as hers on the floor.  Who knew?

Apparently a whole lot of other women know, because every where you look – on the street, magazines, online,  etc – there is always attention being given to “the bag”.  I have actually witnessed women stopping other women just to compliment a handbag and ask to touch it.  Who are these women?

They are our consignors.  AND our shoppers!

Check out these designer beauties that you can find RIGHT NOW in our stores:

Local Consignor Goes National

Long time consignor and local artist, Jill Brown/Paper Prayers of Iowa City, has gone national!  Perhaps you’ve seen her and her family’s work at the Iowa Arts Fest and in our Coralville store?  I’ve been a long-time fan and am a proud owner of several fun, original pieces.  I’ve also had the pleasure of giving many pieces as gifts to friends and family.  We were so excited to hear and share her good news!

Things With Wings has been signed with Demdaco (makers of the popular Willow Tree) to produce a line of wall art and other decorative home decor! Congratulations girls!  We are so proud to say “we knew them when…” and we look forward to hearing of your success.  We also hope to continue to offer their amazing and inspirational products in our stores!
